"The Servant" tells the story of Tony, a handsome, rich and indolent young man, who hires a manservant, Barrett, to keep house for him. As Barrett slowly inveigles his way deeper into the household, Tony becomes increasingly dependent on him. Tony's friends, unable to understand Barrett's hold over him, are driven away.
Eventually, the roles of servant and master are completely reversed.
